Tudor Tales has been a long time in the making. I have always wanted to run my own history resource site, and this year (2024) I have finally taken the plunge. I adore teaching history, and I strongly believe that due to the pressures put on teachers to prioritise English and maths in school, they simply have no time to plan new history resources or fact-check the ones they have been given. More than this, so many adults I have spoken to loved learning about the Tudors at school, regret not studying history further, and now don't know where to begin. You can begin here. I hope you find something to interest you, and remind you of how interesting and entertaining history (the Tudors in particular!) can be.
Enjoy! Anna x
I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2008 and since then I have taught in primary, secondary, and special educational needs education, as well as tutoring at a variety of levels. In 2020 I returned to university and received a master’s degree from the University of Oxford in historical studies, and I am now working on my PhD in early modern history, also at the University of Oxford. My research focuses on the Tudor period, and I am particularly interested in cultural beliefs of that era, and the books that were being printed and read.
